BCDC LIVE @ ENCORE BREWING COMPANY

Join us for a fantastic night of Live Music with BCDC

A bit about the band:

LET THERE BE ROCK.

For over 20 years, Canada’s favourite rock n' roll salute, BC/DC, has systematically redefined the concept of a tribute band; garnering iconic status amongst diehard fans, agents, and venues from coast to coast and far beyond...

While a web search will turn up dozens of AC/DC tribute acts around the world, there aren’t likely many who’ve so successfully branded the Aussie band’s timeless raunch with such epic rock n’ roll fury, while also managing to bottle the essence of a wild frontier lifestyle.

With over one thousand live performances in their rear-view mirror, BC/DC has cemented their unlikely, yet undeniable place in Canadian rock n' roll history. Having become a bonafide “national export”, the band has taken their legendary live show beyond the Great White North, embarking on highly successful international tours of China, Thailand, USA and Mexico.

Recent Highlights Include:

• Vancouver Canucks - Home Opener Game, 2019 and 2021, Rogers Arena. On-ice performance during the pre-game introduction of the Canucks line-up. Only artist to ever perform on-ice during Canucks/NHL game intermission. And we'll do it again.

• CFL Halftime Show - "Rock the Red" – Calgary Stampeders vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders. McMahon Stadium, Calgary AB. Attendance: 28,000.

• Winter X-Games - Aspen, Colorado – headline performance, hosted by 15 time X-Games gold-medallist and Olympic champion Shaun White.

• Bell Centre, Montreal QC – Perryscope/Anarin Productions: Monsters of Rock performance. Attendance: 11,500.

• The Palms Resort, Las Vegas NV – Two headline performances (Rain in the Desert Nightclub & Skin Lounge), Interbike Convention.

• Rexall Place, Edmonton AB – Edmonton Rush regular season game mid-period and post-game performance.

With over-the-top stage energy, BC/DC delivers every last note of all the classic songs with absolute authority. You get tired just watching them. BC/DC is heavily rooted in the Bon Scott-era catalogue (Dirty Deeds, TNT, Jailbreak, Let There Be Rock), but also pays homage to AC/DC’s second “golden era” with all the essentials; Back in Black, For Those About to Rock, Hells Bells, and many more. Hey, there’s always another AC/DC tune... and BC/DC always seems more than eager to blast it out.

It’s about a maniac lead guitarist who occasionally enjoys wearing an Evel Knievel suit. It’s
about a frontman from the back alley, born to be a Rock n’ Roll Singer. Feature Film
appearances and Original Soundtracks. A 16-minute mocu-rockumentary tour-de-force,
entitled “ReVoltage” shown at independent film festivals around the world. And fans keep
chugging it down.

Do you know of any other tribute band that has been the answer to a crossword puzzle in the Vancouver Province newspaper? Or the answer to a trivia question in Air Canada’s “En Route” in-flight magazine? Or the legendary Simon & Schuster book series "Uncle John's Bathroom Reader"? Didn’t think so.

If there’s a Canadian cultural export any rowdier than Nelson British Columbia’s BC/DC, you can bet your axe lead guitarist Marc the Sharc will hang up his Gibson SG in shame. Attendance records. Ringing ears. Empty bar fridges.

Do you remember the first time you believed in Rock n Roll?! Welcome back.

SCENIC ROUTE TO ALASKA LIVE @ ENCORE BREWING

Join us for a fantastic night of Live Music with Scenic Route to Alaska

A bit about the band:

Substance and accessibility are often considered opposing forces when it comes to pop music, making it all the more impressive when a band like Scenic Route to Alaska so effortlessly delivers ample doses of both.

The Edmonton-based trio, comprised of Trevor Mann on lead vocals and guitar, drummer Shea Connor, and bassist Murray Wood, effortlessly weaves catchy vocals and memorable melodies through rich arrangements – instantly engaging but begging to be heard again and again.

In the past decade, SRTA has released 6 albums, won a Western Canadian Music Award for Rock Group of the Year and has had a number one song on CBC Radio. The trio continues to tour extensively throughout Canada, Europe, USA and Australia. With their 7th record set to come out in the spring of 2024, you can hope to catch SRTA in a city near you soon!

A bit about the band:

Rubber Tire Peep Show (RTPS), is a Canadian musical collective from Toronto, Canada, slinging sounds that span from blues, funk, country, and soul, to some good old rock 'n' roll. RTPS have grown to be one of the most notable names in the live music scene of Toronto and the GTA , having sold out venues such as The Dakota Tavern, Cameron House, Eventmrkt and Burdock Music Hall, just to name a few.

The recent release of their debut single titled “Mount Albert Fair” - off of their upcoming record- garnered the attention of a wider audience after years of building a following solely from playing live shows, and holding successful, long-lasting partnerships, and residencies with venues throughout the GTA.

Leeroy Stagger Live @ Encore

Leeroy Stagger Live @ Encore

Join us for a fantastic night of Live Music with Leeroy Stagger - Free Admission!

A bit about Leeroy:

It’s said the cells in your body replace themselves every decade or so. After 11 albums, two EPs and 17 years as a singer-songwriter, Leeroy Stagger has been wondering if maybe the soul works the same way. Ten years sober, with two kids, a home in Lethbridge and a world class recording studio to go with it, he’s far removed from the hard-living twenty-something who started on this musical path. As far as Stagger can see, they aren’t even the same person.

Recorded at the famous Afterlife Studios in Vancouver accidentally during the kickoff of a global pandemic, Dystopian Weekends is the serum of truth with a slice of light and darkness that we all need right now.

I’m very proud of the last couple records I’ve made but had tried very hard to reach as many people as possible with the production of those records, this record I made for my myself and instead of referencing what was on the radio at the time, I went back to vintage Bob Dylan records and records like 421 Ocean Blvd as well as The Silver-Tongued Devil to plant some production seeds. I wanted the songs to speak for themselves and definitely followed some more traditional guideposts.

After 4 years of relentless touring, my band, The Rebeltone Sound needed a break. I decided to go to Vancouver and put together a group of friends that I’ve always wanted to record with. I’d always wanted to work with John Raham (Frazey Ford, Destroyer) and it happened that everybody was available that week. Little did we know that a global pandemic was sitting at our doorstep, it all started going down while we were recording. We were getting all these updates from our phones whilst we’re sitting in this big black bunker of a studio while our phones are exploding with all this terrible news and we’re sitting there trying to make a record.

I think you can feel the nervous energy in the playing and the vocal delivery which actually makes for a beautiful record.

Songs of environmental degradation, greedy land developers inspired by a character Buffy Sainte-Marie had told me about, Christmas songs about junkies and alcoholics, songs about race wars in America, modern day dustbowl songs of fleeing political ideology, break up songs and songs honouring my dead friends. It all seems a bit much on paper, but I think I’ve honoured it all in a very beautiful, relevant and artistic way.

ZUFFALO & DAVID CELIA - LIVE AT ENCORE

Join us for a free night of Live Music with Zuffalo - 4 Piece Psychadelic Funk Rock. Joining us all the way from Toronto, we're excited to have them stopping in as part of their Western Canada Summer Tour. FREE ADMISSION!

A bit about the band:

One night in Toronto, when conversations of their favourite live bands led to dreams of being their own favourite live band, Zuffalo was born. The members of the band are students of music, teachers of music, and continue to learn from their own songwriting every day. They started as a back-up band for local blues musicians and started to have long improvised jams in rehearsal rooms in downtown Toronto. Soon, songs were formed, and their unique funky psychedelic rock sound was established.

Zuffalo’s music is groove-driven, uplifting psychedelic rock with folk- and pop-based melodies and harmonies. With funky beats and monstrous riffs that can enter realms of blues and hard rock, their songs consist of instrumental sections where the musicians communicate with each other to create unique stories in sound. Soaked in rich harmonies, the lyrics are about love but are also laced with quirky metaphors, and often touch on subjects of science fiction and nature. Since the musicians are always reacting to the vibe in the room, this makes the Zuffalonian audience essential, and Zuffalo always aims to keep their audience groovin’.

Free Admission - Great Grooves & Frothy Pints - what's not to love.
